Do you consider A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 – A gay horror legend? I never saw A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 until the release of Freddy vs. Jason because I was more of a Jason fan than anything else. But when their team up movie came out, I went back and watched all of the Nightmare movies. As an adult, I completely saw all of the gay subtext and blatant gay material in this movie. The fact that the main actor, Mark Patton, was a gay man himself just added to this.
There is KickStarter- Scream Queen fund being made to make a documentary about this movie’s creation. At the time of release I can see that this was the closest to a mainstream gay movie that we had in the 80’s. I do plan on reviewing this movie next month along with a several other gay horror flicks out there.
Would you want to watch a documentary on the making of this? I definitely would. This was not my favorite of the Nightmare installments as most of Freddy’s involvement seem to take place in reality. But that also gave this movie a different feel to the other movies. What do you think?
