Batwoman – May Have Her Own TV Show Within The Arrowverse

Holy Batsticks! According to Variety, one of DC Comics highest profile LGBT characters in the DC Universe may get her own TV show after her debut within the Arrowverse next fall. Caroline Dries is the writer for the project and has been credited with The Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, and Smallville. In the comic book world, Batwoman’s alter ego, Kate Kane is a lesbian who has been in a relationships with Renee Montoya and Maggie Sawyer. She also is the cousin to Bruce Wayne. She comes from a military background following in the footsteps of her father. She has a lot of her personal issues that translates to her vigilante status and makes for a great character to develop on screen.

Batwoman will first appear in the big crossover event within the Arrowverse this fall. The CW did a wonderful job last season with the Cross Over on Earth X story that featured all of the Arrowverse series together in a four part story and I have high hopes for the next crossover this coming season. How will Batwoman be introduced without her famous cousin, Batman not being in the equation? That should be interesting as the Green Arrow and others have already mentioned Gotham City and Bruce Wayne but all in passing and nothing in direct tone towards Batman. So this should be interesting. What do you think about this?
