Black Lightning Live Action Series In Development

Black Lightning

Over at Deadline.com, the news was announced that a Black Lightning series is written by Greg Berlanti, Mara Brock Akil and her husband Salim Akil and pitched to CW. Greg Berlanti is known for his work on the current DC TV Universe on the CW. This is awesome!

Granted I do not know a lot about Black Lightning’s character other than him have two children that both became superheroes themselves. I assumed he was an electric type of superhero, which is pretty much the case. His popularity has gone up and down through the years and has made several team memberships with the Justice League and has shown up in several cartoon series as well. Done well, this could be done so nicely! I am excited to see how this series progresses. What do you think?

  1. Black Lightning was originally a street-level hero fighting a mob called The 100. His powers originally came from his belt but he absorbed them after a few issues. I had some issues of his first series when I was a kid (before the DC Implosion). I really liked him in Batman & The Outsiders. I hope they use the original series as the basis for the TV series.
