Blade Movie News – The Daywalker’s Daughter may be the Focus?! (NSFW)

According to BleedingCool News the next Blade film, which will now be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, may focus on Blade’s 16 year old daughter, Fallon Grey. Wesley Snipes has also expressed interest in returning to the role again. It is unclear whether or not Marvel would have him return or recast his character.

This new character has not been officially introduced into the Marvel Comic Book Universe as of this post, but has been identified as being through the description by Blade Comic Book Writer Tim Seeley as:

“She’s a sort of ‘anti-Peter Parker.’ She’s popular, she’s well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that’s before she learns she’s the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire…”

Personally, I would love to have both Blade and Fallon in separate comic books, but when it comes to the Cinematic Universe, I think it makes much more sense to INTRODUCE Blade first and then bring in his daughter later. It is more likely that the previous Blade films will not be taken into account, however the films exist in a way that they could be taken into account being that they do not actually seem to affect the other Marvel Cinematic characters that have existed already. For all the viewer knows, vampires have existed this whole time and none of the Mavel Heroes have any knowledge of it because they are all dealing with the other cosmic events taking place.

Blade Vampire King

I am all for more female superheroes being introduced into the Marvel Universe. They definitely need it, but Blade is the comic book movie that reinvigorated the superhero movie franchise in the 2000’s, even before Tobey Macguire’s Spider-Man. I do not want to sacrifice Blade so that a female counterpart can be brought in to replace him.

Blade Punisher Daredevil

I bet Blade would make a fracking awesome Netflix series too. I could just imagine him teaming up with or fighting Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones or Luke Cage and Iron Fist in their future team ups. All fans are anxiously waiting to see the inevitable Defenders or Street Avengers Team to be made. Blade would make an excellent addition that could probably lead them in the fight against the supernatural. That could be epic on so many levels. What do you think about this? Do you think that a Vampire Hunter movie based on Blade’s daughter would work?
