He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Magazine – Summer 1985

It is the third issue of the 1980’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe magazine. This issue has their own unique version of the origin of the Horde plus two cool posters and lots of nostalgia promos as well. Check out my thoughts on this edition in the attached video.

It’s comic book day! We get a new Avengers series, because of course we do. This time we get to see the Avengers from 1,000,000 years ago. Oh yes, there was a Masters of the Universe magazine that came out in the 1980s. This is the second issue that came out. I previously did a video on the first issue, you can check that out if you’re so inclined (Click Here). Wonder Woman vs. Darkseid – New X-Men Team and More – Comic Load 4/11/2018

It’s comic book book day! Wonder Woman takes on Darkseid directly one on one. This is a great battle. There’s also a Donna Troy story where Donna escapes the Watchtower…although she was not technically a prisoner. There’s a new line up for the X-Men Blue team while Cassandra Nova wreaks havoc among the X-Men Blue team. Meanwhile in Detective Comics, poor Tim Drake is under attack by Ulysses Armstrong. This could be the end for his storyline, but I am hoping that this will not be the case...

Whoa, Robin (the character) has been around for over 75 years! The 2015 book ‘Robin, The Boy Wonder: A Celebration of 75 Years’ celebrates this by collecting several stories from many of the past characters to hold the mantle of Batman’s sometime sidekick. I did not go through every story presented in this book, but I do spotlight some of the important ones in this book review.
You can purchase this book in both digital and hard cover version on Comixology/Amazon.

Freedom Ring – Marvel Comics’ Forgotten Gay Superhero (SPOILERS)

There once was a very short lived Marvel Comics superhero by the name of Freedom Ring. His name was Curtis Doyle and he was created by Robert Kirkman of Walking Dead fame. Unfortunately for Curtis Doyle, he was a novice at being a superhero hero and fell in a horrible humiliating way, even for an inexperienced superhero. He was part of the Marvel Team Up Vol. 3 comic book series and was printed in 2006’s issues #20-24. He has a sad story, but he did exist, if not just briefly.
