Gay Animated Porn – Is There Any Market for it? (NSFW)

Joe Phillips 3

Gay animated characters used to never exist and the few that did appear usually were only subtle about their sexuality. Things are changing and LGBT representation is increasingly being shown in a lot of movies and shows. Some of the more famous animated shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy have reoccurring characters that are darn near awesome.

Paranoman Mitch

I loved the closing line of the character Mitch’s character in ParaNorman referencing his boyfriend. Although many animated shows still consider sexuality as the butt of a joke, like say the show Archer. But most of these shows luckily consider all sexualities as jokes, including heterosexuals. So if everyone is being insulted equally, then I consider that progress.

House of Morecock

What about gay animated porn? There is an abundance of straight and lesbian porn (still considered heterosexual porn since it is aimed at the heterosexual male). Full gay animated porn movies are very rare. There’s just a handful here and there. There is a movie called Pirate’s Booty that was very decent for what it was. How often do we get to see gay pirates? We see lesbian pirates for show all the time. Watch Black Sails sometime. Also, Joe Phillips who is an incredible artist, has made several animated movies. One of his more famous ones was the House of Morecock. He even made a superhero themed movie called Stonewall and Riot.

Yaoi

An entire market in Asia is dedicated to making certain types of animation, and many animated porns. Unfortunately 99% of that is also aimed at the heterosexual male. Most gay anime are based on love stories that entertain women a lot more than gay males. Although Yaoi animation can be nice, most of it is definitely not ideally made for gay men to enjoy.

GayComicGeek

There are definitely lots of GIFs and short flash files of gay stuff (see below of some awesome ones). But not a lot of movies made. Is there any market at all for this? I definitely enjoy the few that we get. Even the mods that have been done on games like Skyrim. The real deal is always better, but it is nice to see a variety, including some animated gay porn as well. Is it a waste of time or do you enjoy gay animated porn too?

    Hi there!
    I do gay animations. 🙂

Check out Animan. He does porn based on 1960s cartoons.

I remember being a kid (13 or so) and jerking off to animated muscle men (Heroes, Comics, video games, etc). The image of two hunky men going at it made my body get all hot and bothered haha.

A year later I discovered gay porn comics. And I was hooked. From Camili Cat to Tom of Finland, I’d jerk off imagining me living in that reality.

Now, I think this is a market that hasn’t been explored. Regular porn is hot. So is animated porn. Or even Mugen-Gyaku Ryonna. The equivalent of Japanese tentacle rape porn. Except with barely legal girls, it’s muscle bound macho hunks getting fucked!!

Definitely think there’s an unexplored market for this.

Yeah there is very very little of it. I enjoyed stonewall and riot and a bunch of other amusing ones but they tend to be rare and pretty low quality compared to straight stuff. I bought and played “coming out on top” which is a western take on the Japanese dating sim game that has some hot and heavy scenes but it also just used still images

Uh, yes, I think there is plenty of interest. But until someone finances the creation of an animated movie and doesn’t just end up giving it away for free on the internet, the gay porn industry will ignore it because there is no money to be made. There are people currently producing animated porn, but they are self financing and mostly hobbyists. The IT required to maintain larger properties available on the Internet isn’t there either, although if there was a way to avoid the laws that keep regulators from allowing porn, I think we would see longer animations.

The audience remains small because there are very few dollars being funneled into it and even fewer people involved promoting it. There are several factors that prevent that from improving and the most obvious reasons is there is quite a few more man hours involved in animation than producing a live action film. I’m sure Joe Phillips stopped making more movies because the amount of money brought in by those projects didn’t offset the effort it took to stage the animated movies in the first place.

Hobbyists do it all in their spare time and I don’t know of any financiers looking to produce and expand the work of the hobbyists out there. Unfortunately the era that Disney initially produced animation in isn’t here anymore, but it wasn’t easy then either. The current corporations producing animation do not seem to believe that adult animated properties are financially viable.

The main reason to produce an animated film, instead of attempting to produce it live, is the story requires a graphic setting that can’t be reproduced easily live and the sorts of stories that require that are coming from comic books. Comic books are a smaller industry and there is not enough money made to funnel it to other media, so the stories stay there, not to mention that LGBTQ comic books are only a fraction of the entire comic book industry.

Sure there are live porn adaptations of superhero stories, but only because those are relatively easy to translate to a live setting. Where is the high fantasy movies? Those stories are now appearing in the fantasy games that can be played by a larger audience and are designed to allow anyone wishing to avoid the queer part to do so. Not really ideal for generating more interest or money for gay porn.

I would like to see more movies that took their source directly from gay comic books. The Ethan Green movie was forgettable and perhaps that is why more “real life” comics haven’t been adapted. They wouldn’t have to be animated, but that would be a better strategy for getting attention of more graphic stories. I grew up and came out reading gay comic books and very few times that group of stories have been mined for adaptation.

I would like to see an animated gayporn movie. The last one I saw was Stonewall & Riot and that was a long time ago.

    Not a waste of time.
