In the near future, we will not be forced by Google to have a Google Plus account. FINALLY! In an unexpected turn, it looks like Google has finally admitted that they were wrong to force themselves into everyone’s lives. And this will be changing very soon. I am actually very happy about this. Bradley Horowitz, VP of Streams, Photos, and Sharing for Google stated on his blog at Googleblog.blogspot.co.uk/,that “we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use.” The first product to be affected, is YouTube. It does not mean that Google Plus is going away, yet. I am sure you already know this, but if you post on YouTube, you must have a Google Plus Account and Profile. Despite not wanting to use a Google Plus account, despite having no use for it, Google forced all of us to have one. Being that I have 3 YouTube Channels (GayComicGeek, GayGeekyVlogs, and GayGeekUncuts), I had to have 3 Google Plus accounts. I could not integrate them into one account. Again, no big deal. I’ve literally just ignored those social platforms for the past year because I did not see any real benefit from them.
Even though I have kept quiet about my hate over Google Plus, other people however, have been much more vocal about their hate towards Google and them forcing the consumer to obtain a Google Plus profile. However, most of these people were upset because Google was making not just YouTube users to make a Google Plus account but they were forcing others to make a Google Plus account for anyone that used any Google service. Well any Google service other than it’s basic search feature. Which I am sure they would have forced that too, if they could.
Do you use Google Plus? I’m curious, cause I knew a lot of people that used it at the beginning and now I hear nothing about it. I have 2 friends that work for Google, and it almost sounds like they’re both brainwashed into saying Google Plus is incredible and worthwhile experience and that it offers much higher social contacts than any other social platform. It’s very weird talking to them about it.
