  1. The story is indicative of a worrying (and long-standing) trend that porn actors are somehow regarded as immoral and less deserving of the same right as everyone else. I think this is one of the reasons we hear about porn actors turning to drugs, having breakdowns or committing suicide in later life – because they’ve been pigeon-holed as “unworthy” and therefore people don’t trust them to do just as good a job as the next person in a non-porn career.

It’s somewhat ironic that a society that bleats on about morals is so willing to turn its back on porn actors, who work in an industry that many people watch and enjoy. Hopefully one day we’ll have moved on enough to understand that it’s how you treat your fellow human beings that’s the important thing and not who’s doing what to whom in the bedroom.

  2. I actually had a very strong opinion of this story when I first heard it. On the one hand, I think the school should have done A LOT more to actually protect him from the bullying, and the idea of him not graduating was WAY over the top. BUT, I also think there’s a cautionary tale here. A lot of people get caught up in glamour of the internet. A lot of people (whether it’s on professional porn site, or even just Facebook) do a lot of crazy things to get everyone’s attention, then regret it later when they’ve got EVERYONE’S attention. If you want to shoot porn, then you need to give serious thought to how that’s going to effect other areas of your life. You also need to think about how it’s are going to effect you later. Something you thought was a cool idea at 18, could really come back to haunt you at 28, or 38, or so on.

And yes, I get the argument that “everyone has sex” but not everyone has sex in a forum where there fellow students, their teachers, their faculty, their mom, dad, little brother and neighbors can see it. And if that’s not what you really want, then don’t do it. I’m not gonna lie and say I don’t watch porn, but the reason why I myself would never do porn, is because I know there’s a chance that someone I don’t want to see it will; or that the conversation about that part of my life is gonna come up at some point, and that’s just not something I want to deal with. Someone else might feel completely different. But if you just jump right into it, without giving the consequences any forethought, and it goes wrong, you really have no one to blame but yourself.

I wish this kid the best, but if he’s planning on continuing a career in porn, then this is the kinna stuff he’s gonna have to deal with. and if he’s not gonna continue porn, then he needs to be prepared for the possibility that this will still continue to haunt him. You can’t control how people see you, you can only control what people see.

  3. I thought I read some where there was more to the story. I think he was suspended for something else. I can’t remember the deets though.

  4. He did a legal activity, this is no different then if someone was kicked out of school is they were black, or had blond hair, or if they played tennis, or voted for a candidate you didn’t like.

  5. He is cute. Aside from thinking that this is a bunch of bullshit, I’ll give him that. Porn actors ARE treated as though their professions make them ‘lesser’. I love porn, AND PROUDLY ADMIT IT!

    I should send Porn flowers…

  6. I agree. He’s 18, super cute, and making porn is legal. The school should be protecting him from the bullies, not persecuting him.
Oh and I can’t wait to look out for this guy when I visit Cocoa Beach in October.
