Entertainment Weekly has some new Black Panther pics. I have no idea what the movie is about yet but I am excited as hell to see it. Everything has been shown up to this point appear to be doing the movie justice. I wish I could be at San Diego Comic Con to see first hand at any new update. Here’s the gallery of pics that EW has posted. And can we just appreciate how fracking hot Chadwick Boseman is?

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.

The new CW superhero show will debut in mid-season this year. Unfortunately CW chief Mark Pedowitz that stated upfront that Black Lightning does not take place in the Arrowverse. That sucks! But luckily, I’m a firm believer in a shared Multiverse. Supergirl has done it, Black Lightning can do it too.

Damn they nailed that costume! I am sure many of you are aware, but a Black Lightning show is on it’s way to the CW. How it will fit into the current DC tv-universe is unknown. The current synopsis reads: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.

I hope that Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning’s alter ego) has some appearances on other CW shows or at least has some connection shown after his pilot airs. There is a lot of potential and possible other characters to show up that I am excited to see. What do you think of his costume?

Cosplayers

The other day I was reading a post spotlighting black cosplayers. I was very interested to see the great costumes on display by both genders, but I was disappointed. Why was I disappointed? Well there were no black male costumers. Like so many past posts on the cosplay world, that site only made a point to show women. This is sad because the ratio of male/female costumers are generally even. Sometimes even more so on the male side. However most bloggers/writers/editors post solely women costumers as compared to their male counterparts.

Super Friends

Black men need loving too, so why the frack did I not think of showing a couple costumers of my own? With the help of a couple of you out there providing some of the pics and references of course, here’s a few awesome cosplayers of the world that definitely need to be recognized:

1. Michael – Finn, Robin and Superman

2. Tony R- Static, Poison Ivy and Patriot

3. Kristopher – Ash and Spider-Man

4. Alexander N- Mr. Sinister, Bishop, and Icon

5. Brandon C – Mr. Freeze, Neptune, Phoenix

6. Chris Nick Fury, Michonne, Sith Lord

7. JaBarr- Vibe, Gambit and Green Lantern

8. Larry M – Black Adam, Dr. Strange and Firestorm

9. Michael F – BatWing, Green Lantern, Superman

10. Neon – Captain America Spider-Man and Miles Morales Spider-Man

11. Jourdan – Captain America, Black Panther, and Kid Flash

Black Lightning

Over at Deadline.com, the news was announced that a Black Lightning series is written by Greg Berlanti, Mara Brock Akil and her husband Salim Akil and pitched to CW. Greg Berlanti is known for his work on the current DC TV Universe on the CW. This is awesome!

Black Lightning 2

Granted I do not know a lot about Black Lightning’s character other than him have two children that both became superheroes themselves. I assumed he was an electric type of superhero, which is pretty much the case. His popularity has gone up and down through the years and has made several team memberships with the Justice League and has shown up in several cartoon series as well. Done well, this could be done so nicely! I am excited to see how this series progresses. What do you think?

Actor/Model/Martial Artist – Ludi Lin has been cast and all I can say is, SPLOOSH! Wow! Never heard of this guy before now, but damn, this guy is hella hot! Check out some of his pics.

The Blue Ranger will be played by RJ Cyler, the Pink Ranger will be played by Naomi Scott, and the Red Ranger will be played by Dacre Montgomery. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie will debut in 2017. So far, no casting news for the Yellow Ranger or if the Green Ranger will be cast.

Power Ranger Cast

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not Mr. Sensitivity to everyone around me. Sometimes we all say words that may end up hurting other people around us. Chris Evans (Captain America) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) were interviewed recently about the Avengers- Age of Ultron and called the Black Widow a slut. Granted, the comment was in joke because both characters were dropped as romantic interests in the movie in favor of Bruce Banner.

Both actors have apologized for the comment as they receive the full fury of internet backlash from from viewers that were outraged over their remarks. My question- how sensitive are we now? I don’t totally understand women’s plight in life being that I was born and identify as a male. But I do know slut can be used derogatory towards not just women, but men as well. In fact many gay men refer to other men as sluts. I hear it almost every day. Or I at least hear it online.

What do you think? I completely see this as a joke, but at the same time I do see how many women could take serious offense to it. What do you think?
