This is the first issue of the new Generation X series from Marvel Comics. It was not the best first issue, but it does have some potential. I will finish the first storyarc to determine whether or not I like it.

Deimos is one of my favorite demons every created. Zahn is a character that was created to be very similar to Masters of the Universe. So the two of them together is just awesome! Check out my thoughts on this Class Comics title.

It’s comic book day! This week we have Wonder Woman #17 – Princess Diana is still insane and being helped in a hospital while Cheetah is reverted back to her former state.
Action Comics #974 – Who is the fake Clark Kent? We start to explore who exactly this faker really is.
Batman Beyond #5 – The return of Bruce Wayne and one of his most dangerous enemies of all time!
Flash #17 – Barry takes on Captain Cold and most of the Rogues in this story finale.
Thanks #4 – Thano’s son Thane recruits several heroes/villains to try and take down his daddy, Thanos himself.
Inhumans vs. X-Men #5 – The build up for a massive battle is set and the teams are about to fight each other to the death, with both of their species at stake.
Hulk #3 – Jennifer Walters is still coming to grips with the death of her cousin Bruce Banner. She is the Hulk now.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corp #15 – Saint Walker is back and Guy is about to get into a huge fight with a Sinestro Corp member.
And Justice League America #1 – Batman and his Justice League lite take on a new alien threat. Great opening issue following their Rebirth!

Tim Drake is my boy. He is the best Robin (in my opinion) and my favorite comic book hero of all time. In his third mini series known as Robin III – Cry of the Huntress has him once again on his own taking down a mafia counterfeit ring while taking on one of Batman’s physically strongest villains – KGBeast. Luckily he has the help of the Huntress on his side, but that still does not make it much easier for him. Awesome series and paves the way for Robin to have his own ongoing series not long after this one ended.

Kamela Khan has been made into a Marvel Legend figure finally,. For the most part, she is a very well made sculpt. She is part of the Sandman line and is a welcomed member of the Avengers toy figures.

I have researched this a bit but I do not know when we first saw a man on man gay kiss in mainstream comic books. Women have been kissing each other since forever apparently, but man on man is a bit more rare. We have probably seen some comical kisses between male characters like when Bugs Bunny constantly kissed his male enemies in any Looney Tunes cartoon. But when did we get our first actual romantic kiss between two men?

Wolverine and Hercules first kissed in Marvel’s 2013’s X-Treme X-Men #10. But that could not have been the first kiss in mainstream comics, right?

Before Logan and the son of Zeus kissed, Shatterstar and Rictor locked lips in X-Factor #45 in 2009. Technically both are bisexual or pansexual, but it counts as a nice romantic kiss between two male characters that had been hinted at being involved with each other all the way back to the 1990s.

You probably already know about Hulkling and Wiccan being a couple. They are arguably one of the most famous comic book couples of all time. But did you know they were together and published from 2009 to 2013 before readers got to see them kiss in 2012’s Young Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #9?

Midnighter and Apollo are one of DC Comic’s most famous couples- gay or straight. They were originally meant as badass re-interpretations of Batman and Superman who do not have the same moral implications as their source material. But they have since then changed to become their own unique characters. They were originally introduced back in 1998’s Stormwatch #4.

Bloke kissed his unnamed boyfriend in X-Force #118. This was way back in 2001. That may not seem like a big deal, but not a lot happened in that year with gay comic books at all. Unfortunately this was a really unmemorable series. I had to go back and read this series and I personally did not like this interpretation of X-Force and its art. But it did count as two men that were kissing.

I do not know if Image’s Savage Dragon #49 counts or not. I have always thought of Image as being the 3rd mainstream comic book universe. This issue was in May 1998 and the issue featured a character known as Super-Tough kissing his former sidekick Young-Tough. They locked lips after being separated for years. The writer is Erik Larson and he made it seem as though this was no big deal at the time. I mean wow, in 1998 that must have been a huge deal.

Was there a kiss that happened before this? Poor Kevin was introduced into Archie Comics back in 2010 and made out to be openly gay but did not get to kiss his boyfriend until 2013. It seems unfortunate that gay men get the short end of the stick in the comic verses everywhere. But it is our fate. Was there a gay man on man kiss that I am unaware of? Let me know. I cannot find more that has happened before that date. My comic book knowledge is limited, so I am not sure.

Ever wonder about how one of the most famous ginger superheroes in the Class Comics Universe started on his adventures? Go back to 1943 and we get out answer. Not only are former superheroes from the past explored, but we find some connections with other Class Comics characters that started in this book. The trade paperback collection of Naked Justice Beginnings collects the first 4 issues of the origin story for Felix Himner, aka Naked Justice. This book was published by Bruno Gmünder, written by Patrick Fillion. The art was mostly completed by Jacob Mott in issues #1-3 and by JC Soto in issue number #4.

Apollo was killed by Mawzir and taken to hell by Neron. That’s bad for hell, because Midnighter fights his way to his boyfriend’s side. It’s a bloody battle, but he does his thing and gets there! Badass 4th issue and I am loving Steve Orlando’s writing.

Our favorite purple demon from the Class Comics Universe is back in Tales of the Demon Taro #2. This time Deimos is trying to infiltrate a demon slave trade. In order to do this, he has to learn how to be a slave himself. This issue has 3 stories all written by Patrick Fillion and drawn by different artists.

It’s the second issue for the He-Man/Thundercats crossover that fans have been waiting to see for over 30 years. This issue is more Masters of the Universe heavy and barely shows the Thundercats, but we get an epic battle. The Mutants and Skeletor’s henchmen join forces to take on the Most Powerful Man in the Universe himself. Plus Skeletor has a huge upgrade thanks to Mumm-Ra. Great second issue!
