It’s comic book day! We have a new Justice League #26 we have a new Jr League making an appearance (NOT Young Justice) with a cool Wonder Boy character being shown. We also have the Totally Awesome Hulk teaming up with the Incredible Hulk in Generations #1.
A new ongoing Go Go Power Rangers series starts this week. Darth Vader #4 we have the Sith Lord take on a Jedi to steal his saber. In Batman #28, the gang war between the Joker and Riddler continues on. In Walking Dead #170, where are all the walkers in the city? X-Men Gold #9 has a lot of parallels going on with current US politics. Of course it always has had this going on. All this and more on this week’s load.

Holy hell, the first image of Young Justice: Outsiders, Season 3 has been shown. We have Spoiler and Arrowette in the mix. FUCK YES! And I am fairly confident that Tim did make this cut. I mean that does look like him in the picture. There was rumor that he was going to be phased out so that fucking Damian Wayne could be brought in. Luckily if that does happen, at least Tim will be there for some of the story. Regardless, this looks great!

If you are not aware of all of the characters, here is the breakdown from left to right: Static Shock (love the new look), Kid Flash (formerly Impulse), (Red) Robin, Wonder Girl, Spoiler, Blue Beetle, Thirteen, Arrowette (although it looks like Speedy), Arsenal, and Beast Boy. The senior Young Justice members have not been shown, yet. So I’m curious how Aqualad, Miss Martian, Superboy, Artemis (Tigress), Nightwing will look in this update. Maybe a new Young Justice comic book is not too far away! The image below is fake, but I can dream! What do you guys think of the line up so far for Young Justice Outsiders?

Is that Wonder Woman and Superman’s alternate reality son being shown on DC Comic’s August solicitations? I don’t know, but damn! That’s badass! I’m sure this is just a one story thing, but I have learned that many alternate reality characters can do a lot and reappear if enough fans want to see it. And doesn’t he look a lot like Conner Kent? Justice League has been boring me a bit lately, but I’m picking this up.

The synopsis reads:

Written by BRYAN HITCH • Art by FERNANDO PASARIN and OCLAIR ALBERT • Cover by BRYAN HITCH • Variant cover by NICK BRADSHAW
“LEGACY” part one! A group of heroes from a post-apocalyptic future escape into the past to stop their world from coming to be. But to do it they’re going to need the help of the Justice League—who just happen to be these time travelers’ parents!
On sale AUGUST 2 • 32 pg, $2.99 US • RATED T

What do you think? It looks good but I guess I was hoping for more. A lot of this was stuff we have already seen. I know I’m being greedy, but we have barely seen Wonder Woman be the badass warrior woman that I want. Aquaman got more screen time, which is good. Flash’s Red Power Ranger armor still hasn’t grown on me. Cyborg’s armor looks cool but so much CGI with it.
I know Superman will be in the movie and I am sure that he’ll probably make an appearance in his black costume in the next trailer.
I really feel like a Green Lantern is missing from this line up. I know it’ll make everything brighter and more positive, which is any Snyder in every way possible, but we should have one here. WB is scared to death of making that mistake again, but there should be one present if the threat of Apocalypse is about to loom over the Earth.

I just jizzed my pants seeing this. The new official Justice League trailer is not out until Saturday, but holy fuck!!! This is part of the teaser. I’ve been waiting my entire life to see Batman being portrayed like this on live screen. Don’t get me wrong, I love the past renditions of Batman. Adam West’s campiness made Batman a household name. Keaton reinvented and gave us a gothic Batman with Tim Burton at the healm. Nolan tried to give a more realistic Batman with Christian Bale in the Dark Knight Trilogy. But none have really lived up to the comic book interpretation that I have in my head. I’ve only seen low budget fan movies that make Batman the way he is in the comic. Batman the Animated Series is probably the best Batman series of all time and got his character down to a perfect character that translated to screen perfectly. But it was animated. However, this one lone image above gives my goosebumps for live action. I was not the biggest fan of the Batman v. Superman movie because of many elements, but I did feel as though Batman was done right. With the exception of the Red Ranger armor that the Flash is wearing, this gives me lots of hope for the upcoming movie!

What do you think? Are you excited or at least getting more into the upcoming Justice League movie?

Whoa, this was awesome! Steve Orlando wrote this issue with Batman recruiting several characters to start an army for an unknown threat that only Batman sees at this time. This a great issue that starts up this team and hopefully ties into the overall Rebirth storyline taking place in the DC Universe.

Justice League Dark – The DC Animated movie has come out. A magical supernatural problem has happened around the planet that the Justice League cannot handle on their own. They realize that the event is magical in nature and that outside magical superheroes are needed to help. Constantine is brought in and he rounds up several other supernatural characters to fight this foe. Great movie with some minor flaws, but very entertaining. Check out my thoughts on the movie in this video.

Other than the usual plot of “facing a greater enemy,” most details on the new Justice League movie have not leaked. There are lots of speculation as to how the story will unfold either involving Darseid, Atlantis or combinations of threats. One thing for sure though is that the costumes and looks of the characters are totally rocking! Aquaman looks like he’s one of the most powerful members. Cyborg looks straight out of a comic book and his design is so sweet! Wonder Woman always looks like she’s about fuck someone up, and I love how badass she is! I am getting very antsy to find out more on this movie. Despite Zack Snyder still directing it, I do hope for the best.

So far we know by DC that: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The Ray is back in the DC Universe and will be joining the Justice League of America. This one-shot issue serves as a new origin and a coming out story for the Ray, also known as Raymond Terrill. Grant Morrison re-envisioned the character as being a gay man in the Multiversity story and this translated over into the main DC Universe. Raymond has been absent mostly from the DC Universe in the past couple of years. This issue has writer Steve Orlando re-telling a great coming of age superhero story that keeps many of his basic roots from the former DC Universe while also re-imagining other aspects. Artist Stephen Byrne illustrates each panel great with an almost cartoon vibe coming from it. Great issue and spectacular way to usher in a character that will be deservedly part of a heroic superhero team in the DC Universe.
