Happy 100th Birthday Tom of Finland! (Born on May 8, 1920)

If Tom of Finland was with us today, he would be 100 years old! Born on May 8, 1920 to the name Touko Valio Laaksonen, Tom of Finland paved the way for many future artists that would have a love for homoerotic male form. He dared to depict men sexual, lustful and sometimes romantic scenarios. Some of his first art was hidden and discriminated against by publishers and audiences while others secretly followed his work with admiration. Eventually his fame could not be ignored at large and became a historic gay artist that is celebrated to this day.
