The movie does look to be great! I am still not in love with Apocalypse’s look, but I definitely like that Oscar Isaac is playing En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse himself). Storm looks great, as does Psylocke. I cannot wait to see some of the battles taking place. What are you thoughts?

Have you heard of the X-Men Protocols? This was a very, very short lived online animated series based on the X-Men going through battlegrounds within the Danger Room. Not only that, but the team consists of my absolute favorite members of the X-Men team that we never see in comics anymore. This was created by Joel Furtado, who was this series out of fandom for the series.

Unfortunately, Marvel aka Disney, has made sure that his project is shut down. This is so unfortunate. Only one episode was made and even that was taken down from his site. This really is an awful thing to hear. Check out the creator’s vid above to see his reaction to Marvel’s decision. I was looking forward to seeing his episodes being made. It was not being monetized and the videos were all out of fandom for the X-Men.

Anyways, the only part to this project that we can see is the part below. And this is not on Joel’s channel. Someone else downloaded the episode and put it on their own channel. It probably will be taken down soon too. It had a lot of potential. Just this first part looks so cool. Seeing Jean Grey be Jean Grey with her abilities not all ‘Phoenix-y’ is something that we seem to rarely have anymore. Maybe Marvel will give Joel a job one day. I can only hope.

So many good movie trailers are out. X-Men – Age of Apocalypse trailer just aired and I’m totally nerdgasming everywhere! We get some accurate portrayals of some of the characters. Mohawk Storm. Can we all just appreciate that? The feel is very comic-y and I cannot tell you how excited I am to see Angel become Archangel. The ending shot of the trailer is something that I would have saved for the movie, but whatever, I’m still happy. I was not happy with Apocalypse’s look originally but I’m thinking he’s going to be CGI’d to death, so it won’t matter. I won’t give any more geek criticism than that as I feel like that’s been given way too much lately with all nerd properties lately. I’ll just enjoy this for what it is and say I’m totally sold on this movie!

Uncanny XMen 600 (2).Movie_Snapshot

The definitive end to the current volume of the Uncanny X-Men is here. We had to wait 6 months to get it, but at least we finally did get it. There is some closure as to some of the characters and where they will be heading in the future comics, but we also get an answer to a question that many have been pondering for months. Is adult Iceman gay, like his teenage counter part? Check out my thoughts on the issue in the video below.

Entertainment Weekly XMen Cover

Entertainment Weekly has shown new pics of the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse movie slated to be released next year. I’m really impressed with how good the costumes look. I mean we get a Psylocke with her bright purple ninja outfit from the 90’s. Magneto looks way more like Magneto.

Ivan Ooze

But what I’m the most impressed with is that we actually get a Storm that looks like Storm. And we have Storm with her mohawk!!! How fracking cool is that! She went through a wild phase in the 80’s and became very rambunctious and rebelled against her calmer side. She returned to this look recently in the comics too. Other than her 90’s Jim Lee look, this is definitely the coolest Storm. She even lost her powers for a time and was still able to kick Cyclop’s ass and take leadership away from him for a while. Good times!

Mohawk Storm
It’s a shame that it took this long to get costumes and the looks of the X-Men down in this movie. It has been labeled as being the last X-Men movie before they reboot the universe. Which actually seems like they already did reboot the universe, but whatever. I know Hugh Jackman has stated that he may not be coming back to the role again after this movie, unless it is to continue another role as Old Man Logan (long story, if you don’t know it, it’s not important right now). Maybe it could or couldn’t happen. I’ll just enjoy the ride and pretend that no other X-Movie came before this.

Ivan_Ooze 2

Anyways, what do you think? I’m very impressed with it so far myself. I don’t know why they replaced Apocalypse with Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers, but I can still live with that too. Maybe he will look more impressive on the screen when the movie is done.

Entertainment Weekly XMen Cover 2

According to All New X-Men #40, the teenage Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, is gay. Who’d have thunk that? It totally took me by surprise. I wish it was ADULT Iceman instead. That would be much better. This just confuses matters. But I’ll take it for what it is. What do you think of it?
